THE MOON CITY MASTERS

"The Famous Moon City Masters" (Independent; 2022)

I did not want to like this recording just because I did not like the name of the band. Come on, really? The Moon City Masters and their release "The Famous Moon City Masters?"  Don’t judge a book by its cover; If ever that old adage was true it would be for this band because, simply put, they rock.

The band consists of twin brothers, Jordan and Talor Steinberg, bass and guitar respectively, and when they sing it is pure harmony magic. Now, how to describe the music of MCM? As near as I can figure it is funk, hard rock, rock (combined to make classic rock), jazz and a few genres I have yet to identify. These brothers are talented enough to fit in just about any decade. They are that good.  When they put all their talent together (great guitar riffs, both bass and standard), they are unstoppable.  Go to YouTube and look up "Takin' It Back" and you will get a taste on what this band is about.

Holy shit! The more I listen to and research this band, the better I like them. This music has 70s FM radio all over it. I suggest you go to their web presence at www.mooncitymasters.com to get a front row seat to this band.  The brothers are doing it the way it is done today: release a single, put it on a different streaming services. Keep doing that for a while, then put out an EP, a few more singles, go on tour, get more exposure, release an actual full-length album.  I don’t usually listen to singles, but I made exception with MCM and I am glad I did. It introduced me in depth to their talent.

I have been wrong before when I predict a band is going to make it big and, hell, I’ll probably be wrong again. However, I don't think I am wrong about Moon City Masters. I expect the brothers to make it big.  They have a certain aura about their music and I have a hunch this band is going to be huge.

I think I will go back and listen to everything I have in my streaming service on them, and that is also a first for me.  Moon City Masters kick ass and, mark my words, this band is going to be big.
