MOLOTOV SOLUTION
"Insurrection" (BLK Heart; 2011)
Reviewed by Jeff Rogers
Molotov Solution are deathcore. The vocals are gravelly, the drums are constantly rumbling and the guitar has a sound that leans toward a melodic tone but stays in the brutal, face-kick-to-the-temple vein.
The disc starts off with the vicious track "Sin & Sacrifice" and each smashing track after that will have you hiding under the table so when the building falls you'll have some sort of cover. The vocals are monstrous and I'm sure that liner notes would be handy if you want to know what Nick Arthur is ranting about (mostly political issues and government conspiracies). His growl is nasty.
The guitar is really good when it comes to adding filler and that gives them a little something extra instead of a constant boring riffage. Pinches, little solo bursts and whammy bar techniques raise the guitar above the standard music associated with deathcore. You can even hear some progressive metal on a few songs. I started focusing more on the guitar because it just plain makes the band.
Molotov Solution: Robbie Pina - guitar; Nick Arthur - vocals; Richie Gomez – guitar; Shane Slade - bass guitar; Jacob Durrett - drums.
