MISMO

"...And to the Republic" (Mismo / Made in Metal.net Productions; 2005)

Reviewed by Snidermann

The power around Mismo's "...And to the Republic" is undeniable. The music is tight and very well played with enough authority to make it a thoroughly pleasurable experience.

The vocals, however, are too often thin and whiny and sound a lot like Offspring singer Dexter Holland. I cannot get the Offspring off my mind while listening to "...And to the Republic" and, thus, Mismo winds up with no personality of its own.

Mismo: Bryan Guderjohn - drums; James Purkey - vocals; Jeff Kautz - bass; Nicholas Rampmeyer - guitar.
