MINUS.DRIVER

"A Message For You" (Universal Records; 2003)

Reviewed by Snidermann

Minus.Driver's "A Message For You" is packed to the gills with the two most important A's in metal music: attitude and aggression. "A Message For You" is top notch metal with rich, killer lyrics that really round out this listening experience.

Minus.Driver makes rock'n'roll seem easy (and we all know it isn't) and the fun really shows through. I identified with this band instantly and with what they were trying to convey. Sometimes that comes naturally and sometimes you have to work at it. There was no work involved in getting into "A Message For You."

There's no filler here. Each song on this finely crafted CD fits here perfectly, although a few do tend to go on just a tad too long. Regardless, it really doesn't detract from the overall coolness of this CD. Bands like Minus.Driver are the reason I so love reviewing CDs - otherwise I may have missed a band like Minus.Driver - a band that kicks pure metal ass.

Minus.Driver have "A Message for You" and that message is that this is one killer band.

Minus.Driver: Jordan Sebastian Williams - "vocalizer"; Lee March - bass; Dustin Ryan Kirchner - strings; Matt Donald - drums.
