MENTAL

"Get an Oxygen Tank" (Bridge 9; 2000)

Reviewed by Mike SOS

Give Mental credit for keeping it real throughout "Get an Oxygen Tank." The Massachusetts-based old school hardcore band doesn't primp or pose throughout this 16-track collection. Instead, this quartet throws everything they've got out there for you to absorb, with a kind of intense pride that bands like Agnostic Front
always carried yet much of today's hardcore lacks.

Just check tracks like the tell-it-like-it-is dialogue of "Chiller Than Most" and, when coupled with the DRI meets Gorilla Biscuits
breakneck musical style ringing through your head, you'll be throwing windmills and piling on for group sing-alongs in no time.
