MAGNET SCHOOL

"Tonight We Drink ... Tomorrow We Battle the Evil at Hand" (Arclight; 2007)

Reviewed by Snidermann

At first listen, Magnet School seems to do everything correct. They play their alternative modern rock with real heart and genuine talent. Unfortunately, I found the band's sound and lyrics entirely too morose and depressing for my taste. If music brings me down instead of pumps me up, it really defeats the purpose.

"Tonight We Drink..." really did nothing for me. There were no highs and no lows, just constant, consistent filler. Still, I'll give the band two guitarsaws for effort and for the great title.
