MAD AT GRAVITY
"Resonance" (Artist Direct; 2002)
Reviewed by Snidermann
I can hear a lot of talent and musical ability in Mad At Gravity. Unfortunately, I didn't find a lot of originality.
Overall, I'd have to say that "Resonance" isn't very fresh at all; in fact, it's a little boring. Add to that vocals that seem to be more of the whining nonsense too many bands out there are dishing out these days and, frankly, I couldn't wait for this CD to end.
The music is good and shows some potential, but the overpowering vocals and preachy lyrics sabotage the overall sound. My advice to Mad At Gravity would be to ease back on the vocal whine and just have some damn fun. This CD was like a long, uneventful trip. I'm hoping the band's next effort will be a little easier to swallow.
