LILITH CZAR

"Created from Filth and Dust" (Sumerian Records; 2021)

I fell into a great metal recording: Lilith Czar's "Created From Filth and Dust." Ever since I saw "Lucifer" on TV, I have really liked the Lilith historical persona. So the band Lilith Czar sounded right up that alley. They do a very credible version of the Stevie Nicks hit "Edge of Seventeen." The band did not change a thing about this song. Roger Waters from Pink Floyd said in an interview that, when he had his producer hat on, bands today need to do less when recording to more effect. This band does that almost to a tee.

"Created from Filth and Dust" is simply one of the best written releases I have heard in quite some time. The music is outstanding: simple, to the point and in-your-face. There is a song called "King" where the singer cries out that it's a man's world and she wants to be a king not a queen. And, one of the best lines of the recording is "Who’s to say a woman can’t think with her dick."

Truly, an outstanding recording.
