LIGHTNING BORN
"Lightning Born" (Ripple Music; 2019)

When you first experience a great rock'n'roll band—not an average one, but a great one—you know from that very first note that your listening experience is going to be awesome.
That's exactly what happened to me when I first put Lightning Born's self-titled CD into my player (I know, CD player? Don't ask). Anyway, this band and their music jumped out at me like a hammer and didn't let up for eleven tracks and 51 minutes later. Frankly, I was out of breath when it was all over! The band has a 70s-era Sabbath/Deep Purple vibe and I'm A-Okay with that! As I listened to the band's style and talent, all I could think was that these guys would sound great live!
This shit is loud, tight, stripped-down heavy music with no hidden meaning. It's just hard rock'n'roll that gets the head bobbing and the feet moving.
Lightning Born is a team of popular musicians: Mike Dean (CORRSION OF CONFORMITY); Erik Sugg (DEMON EYE), Dozer Hawes (MEGA COLLASUS) and Brenna Leath (THE HELL NO). Great band and great CD!
