KISMET

"Shades of Clarity" (Dust on the Tracks; 2014)

Reviewed by R. Scott Bolton

Kismet's "Shades of Clarity" is an effective, if not overwhelming, collection of modern alternative rock tracks that are solid and well-performed. To my taste, it seems that the heavier the guitar is in each song, the more successful the song. Slower tracks like "Time" simply bored me. Others were a little too radio bland for my taste but, overall, this is a very listenable CD.

Fans of bands such as Linkin Park, Papa Roach and the like will find something to like here on "Shades of Clarity."
