JOE JERMANO

"Dreaming in Color" (Onamrej Records; 2017)

Reviewed by R. Scott Bolton

"Dreaming in Color" is a solid rock album by Joe Jermano, a veteran rocker with several albums under his belt. It's simply a collection of seven rock songs in the vein of John Cougar Mellencamp or Bruce Springsteen with a harder edge, maybe closer to Cheap Trick.

I have to admit, when I first received the album to review, I thought it was another guitar instrumental album which are often very good but are very hard to review. I was pleased to discover that the tracks on “Dreaming in Color” are actual songs, with vocals. Each has an attractive melody, a driving rhythm and features the vocals of Mr. Jermano, whose voice work matches his guitar work.

"Dreaming in Color" is pure, unadulterated, straight-forward rock'n'roll, and I loved every minute of it.
