JANUS

"Red Right Return" (Glass Bottom Boat Records; 2008)

Reviewed by Snidermann

To me, discovering a new band that rocks is like finding money on the sidewalk.  Well, today I found a 20 spot.

Janus and their "Red Right Return" rock hard and, after a few listens through, I have really only gotten a taste of just what this killer band is all about. Straight forward rock that has a hard, fresh sound that is instantly recognizable as quality rock'n'roll.

I love everything about this recording. My only criticism (and it's a minor one) is that, although vocalist David Scotney has a great voice, I'm not sure he's using it to his full potential here. The talent is plainly there and I expect he will sound even better on future recordings.

Janus: David Scotney (Vocals); Mike Tyranski (Guitar / Programming); Alan Quitman (Bass); Johnny Salazar (Drums).

Killer. Not a classic but it will rock your world.

So-so. You've heard better.

Pretty bad. Might make a nice coaster.

Self explanatory. Just the sight of the cover makes you wanna hurl.
