IRON LUNG

"Sexless / No Sex" (Prank; 2008)

Reviewed by Mike SOS

Seattle's dastardly duo Iron Lung play a no-frills, cut-to-the-chase, power-violence-infused form of hardcore whose relentless abrasiveness propels this tandem's latest unsettling 20-track presentation.

Fueled by copious amounts of dissonance, spastic tempo changes, and unabashed exhibitions of anger, jagged tracks such as "Cancer," "Politics of Science," and "Future Corpses" fly by with a vicious velocity and are smothered with the type of crust-laden sludge best suited for the crowd who hold nothing back to showcase their genuine disdain for the world.
