IKILLYA

"Vae Victis" (Megaforce; 2014)

Reviewed by Jeff Rogers

Ikillya are intense! The album title, "Vae Victis," translates into "woe to the vanquished" and woe be to you who will be vanquished after you listen to this machine gun killing beast. This hardcore metal offering starts off with a wicked riff that gets pushed by the vicious drums. The vocals are like punches to your defenseless face. If you're alive after its over then you must have passed out and saved yourself.

The truest form of metal is presented here. Ikillya are loud, rude, heavy and they don't let up, ever! Each track is full of hate, aggression and a repetitious assault on your stereo receivers (your ears). If you need a soundtrack for working out or lifting buildings over your head then I recommend Ikillya's "Vae Victis." Just do us all a favor and wear a shirt that says "Maximum Damage Coming!"
