HORSEBURNER
"Voice of Storms" (Blues Funeral Recordings; 2024)

One of the perks of writing for RoughEdge.com is listening to music from bands that I have never heard of before and having the opportunity to review it. I have just such a band here: Horseburner and their recording "Voice of Storms."
Never had I heard about this band and I was more than a little surprised that they rocked and rocked hard. I get a list of new release from editor R. Scott Bolton each week, titles that I can listen to and review as I see fit. Man, how cool is that? And that's where I first heard of Horseburner. I had to look up the bio on this band on the net. They've been around since 2008 and, from their bio, I see they are considered a stoner band. Personally, I hate that fucking term. Music is music. What I hear on "Voice of Storms" is good quality, well done, well-written, uncomplicated music. And it just gets better with each listen.
Finding an unknown band (to me) that I dig is like finding cash on the sidewalk. Horseburner is a high-energy, easy to listen to rock band that I can only are awesome in a live setting. I may have to go back and check out their earlier work, now that I have actually heard of them.
