HELL OR HIGHWATER

"Begin Again" (Pavement Entertainment; 2013)

Reviewed by Jeff Rogers

Hell or Highwater could be called a side project of Atreyu drummer Brandon Saller but a couple of the guys in Atreyu have side projects going so lets call this an "outing."

Fans of Atreyu will notice a departure in Hell or Highwater's sound. It's a good departure because the music is solid and, after my initial listen-through, I can hear the Foo Fighters sound emerging through on a few tracks. The overall sound of this disc is hard rock though a few of the tracks have some gritty guitar on them. It sounds tough and with three bonus tracks included in this disc you'll be quite satisfied with the amount and quality of music.

Hell or Highwater: Brandon Saller: Vocals, Matt Pauling: Guitar, Neal Tiemann: Guitar, Joey Bradford: Bass, Captain Carl: Drums.
