GLUECIFER

"Automatic Thrill" (SPV / Steamhammer; 2004)

Gluecifer's "Automatic Thrill" is an interesting mixture of metal, punk, and good old-fashioned effort. Frankly it eludes me as to which genre is dominant here.

Sometimes punk takes the lead but the next song sounds more like heavy metal and it goes on and on, back and forth. "Automatic Thrill" really keeps you on your toes, which makes listening to it a lot of fun. The CD's title is perfect: "Automatic Thrill" really is a thrill to experience. There are plenty of intense hooks and lots of talented musicianship to keep the listener interested. "Automatic Thrill" just keeps getting better with each and every spin.

This band really knows how to play. They sound great on this recording and I'll bet they must really fucking cook live. "Automatic Thrill" is a fun and easy CD to listen to which, in my opinion, is a combination that cannot be beat.
