FUZZ MEADOWS

"Orange Sunshine" (Copper Feast Records; 2022)

Reviewed by R. Scott Bolton

As you might gather from the name of the band, "Orange Sunshine" features a lot of stoner-like guitar sounds but there's a little more to this band than just that.

There are five tracks on "Orange Sunshine,"  with two tracks running eight minutes and one track running a mammoth 14:44. Each track is a atmospheric sound scape that rolls along at an easy, almost relaxing pace while, at the same time, delivering a thunderous, mind-expanding listening experience, laced with airy lead guitars and a droning rhythm.

This is the kind of music you want to put on late at night, in the darkness, headphones in place and just let flow over you. Let it take you where it wants to take you. For the most part, you'll be glad you went along for the ride.
