FACTORY 81

"Mankind" (Mojo; 1999)

Reviewed by Snidermann

Factory 81 is a high powered rock/rap combination that is very well done and at times shows signs of brilliance.

The music blisters forth and the vocals are hard and gritty with a lyrical content that is to be commended. The only down side I can see to this band is a constant, high-pitched singing style (think "wailing") that is a constant through out. At first, I thought it sounded cool but after about three songs, I found it mostly annoying.

Factory 81 is Nate Wallace - vocals; Bill Schultz - guitars; Kevin Lewis - bass and Andrew Cyrulink - drums.

Rating Guide:

A classic. This record will kick your ass.

Killer. Not a classic but it will rock your world.

So-so. You've heard better.

Pretty bad. Might make a nice coaster.

Self explanatory. Just the sight of the cover makes you wanna hurl.
