EVA UNDER FIRE

"Love, Drugs & Misery" (Hollywood Records; 2006)

Reviewed by Snidermann

Eva Under Fire a female-fronted band out of Detroit, Michigan. In-your-face rock'n'roll music with a hard rock edge that is both addicting and easy to listen to. The metal hooks are alive with the extremely well-written music.

The name of the recording is "Love, Drugs & Misery." There is a awesome cut called "Blow" and it features Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills. There is a very cool cover of U2's "With or Without You,: They do it better than U2, no surprise there. The musical range from cut to cut is simply astonishing: rock, ballads and some music I have yet to figure out how to identify, but that will come with more spins. Eva Under Fire plays like they have been doing this for decades instead of the seven years since the band started. I can only think this band has been playing in and around the Detroit area, honing their ability to the finely tuned machine they are today.

I can only imagine what this band is like live. Hopefully, I will be able to get the chance to find out sometime in the future.

There is actually no Eva in the band. The female lead singer is Amada Lyberg, aka Ava Marie. The rest of the band is Rob Lyberg, husband and guitar, Corey Newsom drums, Chris Slapnik guitar and vocals and Ed Gawlik III bass and vocals.

They did a recording back in '16 and, if that recording is anything like this one, I am in for a treat. Can't hardly frickin' wait to hear it.   This is one well rounded band and they put out an outstanding recording.  4 chain saws.

The only fault I can see is the recording is only 12 songs and 42 minutes long and, frankly, if that is the only issue with this recording, they must be doing sometime right.

This is one well-rounded band and they have released an outstanding recording.

So-so. You've heard better.

Pretty bad. Might make a nice coaster.

Self explanatory. Just the sight of the cover makes you wanna hurl.
