ESCUALO

"Ritual" (Virtual)

Reviewed by Snidermann

With music, sometimes it's not what you say, it's how you say it.

That may never have been more apparent than with Chile's Escualo and their release, "Ritual." The entire CD is in Spanish - including the liner notes - but it still simply rocks. The music on this CD transports you to some other musical plain, even if you can't understand a word the band is singing.

Escualo is one kick-ass rock'n'roll band, combining the best of hardcore with metal licks and local flavor. You may not be able to understand the lyrics, but the universal language of metal gets through in spades and it will tell you loud and clear that this band fucking rocks.

Come to think of it, I can't understand most of the lyrics by English-singing metal bands, so what the hell difference does it make?

Escualo: Fernando Reyes, Rodrigo Pardo, Mercelo Villegas and Giancarlo Anziani.

Actually, I can't understand most of the words in English metal releases and like them, why not like a band were I can't understand a word. 3 chain saws.
