ENDLESS
"With Everything Against Us" (Da-Core Records; 2000)
Reviewed by R. Scott Bolton
Endless is a near-perfect blending of hardcore and punk that does just what it sets out to do: Kick you squarely in the ass and make you want to emphatically pump your fist in the air.
Listening to the CD will have you stomping around looking for a mosh pit, reveling in the staccato guitar and the sometimes merciless tempo of Endless.
With lyrics that alternate between the just plain silly ("Mallgod" and "Break Shit") and the heavily deep ("Revolution") and the surprisingly inspiring ("Trust Yourself"), Endless tell it like it is without resorting to the pure anger and rage that are so dully present in too much of today's music. The anger's there - it just doesn't overpower the music.
At first look, the cover of Twisted Sister's "We're Not Gonna Take It" may seem a little out of place here, but - listening to what Endless has done to it - it fits in just fine.
ENDLESS: Eric Corbin - vocals; Ken Seeman - bass; Kurt Liebmann - drums; Dan Krajowski - drums.
