DIZEAZE
"Straight Shot" (Self-produced; 2019)
Reviewed by R. Scott Bolton
I miss me some good punk rock (I haven't got around to the new Green Day yet) so, when the opportunity for me to review "Straight Shot," the new EP from Dizeaze, I was eager to give is a listen.
"Straight Shot" did not disappoint. It's pure, simple-as-shit, straight-forward punk rock, full of fast guitar chords and driving paces, with lyrics that spit in your face and make you laugh at the same time. You can see the pogo mosh pit forming in your mind's eye as you lean back, crank the volume to eleven and let "Straight Shot" wash over you.
My only disappointments were that there are only six tracks on the CD, with a paltry running time of about twenty minutes (I know, I know; it's just an EP but I wanted more!) and that I think the band's vocalist could add just a little more sneer to his tone. Doesn't really matter; it does what it's supposed to do anyway.
Looking for a dose of pure, direct-into-your-vein
punk rock? Dizeaze will infect you with "Straight Shot."
