DIA DE LOS MUERTOS

"Day of the Dead" (Cinismo Records; 2005)

I like a lot of music on a CD (at least eight songs or more) to get a real feel for a band. However, with every rule there are bound to be exceptions.

Dia de Los Muertos' "Day of the Dead" is just such a CD. The music here is harsh and very well played. I may not understand all the lyrics, but I understand the music just fine.

"Day of the Dead" only has five songs, but I don't think I could get a better feel for this band with more music. They lay it all out pretty plainly as it is.

Dia De Los Muertos is a band that is very well put together and "Day of the Dead" is a tight form of metal that rocks with the band's every fiber. This shit is awesome, tight and simply fucking astounding. I am going to do something I never do and give a five track CD the highest mark. "Day of the Dead" deserves the full four guitarsaws, because this CD just shreds.
