DEVIL CITY ANGELS

"Devil City Angels" (Century Media; 2015)

Reviewed by Snidermann

Devil City Angels are a group of successful musicians who got together and put out a really good recording. The band is Tracii Guns - guitar (LA Guns), Rikki Rockett - drummer (Poison), Rudy Sarzo - bassist (Quiet Riot) and Brandon Gibbs singer (Cheap Thrills). As near as I can figure this was the band in 2015 although I believe the lineup has changed since then.

In my opinion, Devil City Angels is what rock music should sound like: simple, fun, no bullshit filler and easy to listen to. Extremely entertaining music about life, love, the struggles of being alive and the meaning of life. I know that sounds like a bunch of zen crap, but the music made me feel good and, frankly, what more do you want out of it?

You have to admit Devil City Angels is one cool band name. Hard-driving rock music from start to finish with just enough hooks to keep it interesting. I have listened to this recording four times already and I am just about ready to start on my fifth and that is a good thing.
