DESTINY

"The Tracy Chapter" (Lifeforce; 2004)

Reviewed by Snidermann

I must have missed the memo that said screaming monotonously into a microphone was considered singing. Because, once again, that is what I am faced when I listened to "The Tracy Chapter."

The music was outstanding throughout with plenty of fresh vision, energy and strength. The vocals, however, were all screams with little else to distinguish it from cut to cut. I actually had to look at the CD player to see if the song had changed or not.

I don't want to discourage Destiny in any way - I enjoyed the music on this CD thoroughly - but I can do without it if the vocals don't improve. There are already too many bands out there who just scream instead of sing.

Very high marks for musicianship, much lower marks for vocal technique.
