DEEP

"Pieces of Nothing" (Pavement Music)

Reviewed by Keith Guillotine

Deep does a great job with their CD, "Pieces of Nothing." This CD definitely
needs to be played while driving down an empty highway in a Ferrari at top speed.  It's fast and it's heavy.

Perhaps surprisingly, the band is even better in person. I had a chance to see them in concert recently and they sounded much better on stage - many times better than the headliner, for my money. But don't get me wrong - the CD kicks ass.

Deep have a shot at getting some attention with this one. I specifically like track two - "The Way I Fall," track four - "When The End Is Now," and track six "Colored Souls."  I imagine one of these will be the first to grab the world's attention.

I highly recommend checking out Deep's "Pieces of Nothing."

DEEP is: Mark - guitar; Jerome - guitar/vocals; Nick - bass; Spike - drums.

Rating Guide:

A classic. This record will kick your ass.

Killer. Not a classic but it will rock your world.

So-so. You've heard better.

Pretty bad. Might make a nice coaster.

Self explanatory. Just the sight of the cover makes you wanna hurl.
