THE DEAD ART

"Another Fleeting Moment" (Self-produced; 2007)

Reviewed by Snidermann

Let's face it: Some bands have it and some don't. The Dead Art and "Another Fleeting Moment" falls somewhere in-between. Although the music rocks with a pretty steady pace, the lyrics here are depressing and morose. There are times when the quality of the music, with its buzzing guitars and driving pace, almost overcomes the effect of the downbeat lyrics but it's just not often enough. And, when the music slows down, it's almost unbearable.

I don't mind bleak, angst-ridden songs sometimes, but when an entire CD brings me down and keeps me there ... well, I don't need that in my music. That's what real life is for.
