DALENA ARMS
"Dalena Arms" (Demo)
Reviewed by Snidermann
Recently, Rough Edge went down to the Coconut Teaszer in Hollywood to see guitarist Mike Hartman (a killer show, by the way - see our review by clicking here). We got there a little early and caught a band that, for my money, was as technically perfect a band as I have ever seen. Even more amazing was the fact that the members of Dalena Arms all seemed as though they were in their mid- to early 20s and I was amazed at the way this band rocked. After they kicked my metal ass, I introduced myself to band, and picked up their CD to review and it has been my constant companion ever since.
I simply can't get over the musical expertise of this quartet: everything just comes together and this CD is one of the best I've heard in quite awhile. Dalena Arms is headed for rock stardom and you can say you heard it first at Rough Edge. I can't believe this fucking awesome band isn't signed! Record companies (CMC International, Mercury, Sony, etc.): Start the bidding wars! Dalena Arms is armed and ready to change the face of rock'n'roll. Just ask them - they'll tell you. Their bio says it all "Dalena Arms is rocks newest impending wave, ready to explode on the global scene." And they're right!
I have only one final word for this review: Impressive. With a capital "I."
DALENA ARMS is: Kele Perkins, vocals; Justin Christian, bass; Sim Grewall, drums; Ryan Culton, rips the guitar neck from start to finish.
Rating Guide:
A classic. This record will kick your ass.
Killer. Not a classic but it will rock your world.
So-so. You've heard better.
Pretty bad. Might make a nice coaster.
Self explanatory. Just the sight of the cover makes you wanna hurl.
