COUNT THE STARS
"Never Be Taken Alive" (Victory Records; 2003)
Reviewed by Snidermann
Count The Stars is a melodic punk band in the same vein as The Vines and Taking Back Sunday. That comparison is a compliment. This is feel good, light punk that is a head-boppin good time.
Count The Stars' high level of music energy is only one of the infectious things about this band. The other is that the band avoids the angst-ridden, hate-filled lyrics of others and just plays for the love of the music. I like that. While other bands fall into the same ol', light punk trench, Count the Stars have climbed out of it and made it fresh again.
Count the Stars: Chris Kasarjian - vocals and guitar; Clark Foley - bass; David Shapiro - drums; Adam Manning - vocals and guitar.
