THE COMPANY BAND

"Pros & Cons" (Ventura Capital; 2012)

Reviewed by Jeff Rogers

The Company Band is a super group of sorts, featuring Clutch front man Neil Fallon, Fireball Ministry front man James Rota, CKY drummer Jess Margera, Guitarist Dave Bone, and Fu Manchu bassist Brad Davis. This disc is a five song EP and since they've been around starting in 2006 beginning with the EP "Sign Here, and Here and Here" in 2007, I feel a bit sheepish that I didn't know about them. At the time of this writing, they have two EPs, a full length and a digital single available ... yeah, you might be like me and have to do some research about their existence.

This EP is a gritty little grinding collection of songs that have some great vocals due to Neil and some tough guitar via Dave Bone. I'm fans of Clutch, CKY and Fu Manchu so having those guys merge didn't cause an accident, it created a musical drive that demands you sit back at listen with attention. This EP is worth the price of download, every song is brooding and full of insightful lyrics.
