David Chastain is a legendary metal guitarist who has released over 50 recordings under various names. As you can tell from the title of this one, "We Bleed Metal," Chastain is a metal band. And what is great about this CD is that it is no-holds-barred, completely unapologetic, balls-to-the-wall heavy metal.
Bursting with irresistible riffs, fiery leads and soaring vocals, "We Bleed Metal" just kicks ass from beginning to end. It's all fast-paced, head-banging metal with no boundaries, and there's no way any metal fan can resist its powerful sound. Vocalist Leather Leone sounds like a female version of a cross between Metal Church's Ronny Munroe and the master, Ronnie James Dio. Speaking of Dio, some of the music on "We Bleed Metal" reminds me of "The Last in Line" era Dio, and there ain't nothing wrong with that!
Of course, with an album so unapologetically metal, you get a nice dose of metal cheese with "We Bleed Metal" but you know what? That's what I'm looking for in an album this honest. It works for me!
