"Tampering with the Unnatural" (Headrush Records; 2010)

First things first. This probably isn't the Cauldron you're thinking of. This band, out of Grosse Point, Michigan, is not the same band as the much more popular band out of Canada. Same band name; different musicians. You can find that other Cauldron here.
"Tampering with the Unnatural" was apparently first recorded in 1998, and this Headrush Records edition was re-issued in 2010. It's an adequate thrash metal album, pretty impressive for its time. The production is a little muddy but it's filled with fun riffs and some fiery leads throughout. The band doesn't break any new ground here (although I wonder if they did back in 1998) but their sound is solid enough. The vocals aren't quite as strong as I would like although they get the job done here.
Cauldron: Russ Meuchel - bass; Dave Arvo - drums; Zack Zuchowski - guitars/lead vocals; Dan Radovanovich - guitars/vocals.
Rating Guide:
A classic. This record will kick your ass.
Killer. Not a classic but it will rock your world.
So-so. You've heard better.
Pretty bad. Might make a nice coaster.
Self explanatory. Just the sight of the cover makes you wanna hurl.
