CATCHIN' 22
"Can't Steal Our Spirit" (US Records)
Reviewed by Keith Guillotine
This CD starts out too slow and STAYS THAT WAY! It lacks the balls that
hard rock or heavy music should provide.
Track number four ("Year of the Gun") does offer some great lyrics. Unfortunately, the lead singer doesn't do the song justice. He definitely needs voice lessons or something. Track number nine ("Now") finally gets the album going with a great guitar opening, but the singer still sucks. And FINALLY, track eleven (the LAST song), "Payin' Your Dues" could actually be a hit. Unfortunately, these guys wasted time with the first ten tracks to finally come up with something that sounded halfway decent.
The guitar work throughout this album was great, but the singer needs to
improve or move.
