CATASTROPHIC

"The Cleansing" (Metal Blade)

Reviewed by Kate Smith

Catastrophic is another brutal death metal band that comes at us with "The Cleansing."

With Trevor Peres, from Obituary, on guitar, Catastrophic has a very distinct Florida-influenced death metal sound with the usual growling vocals, shredding guitar and intense double-pedal percussion.

My favorite tracks are "Lab Rats," "The Cleansing," "Jesters of the Millennium" and "Blood Maiden."

I wouldn't say this is one of the best death metal bands I've heard, but they're worth giving a listen to.

Catastrophic is: Trevor Peres - guitar; Keith Devito - vocals; Chris Basile  - guitar; Briand Hobbie - bass; Rob Maresca - drums.
