THE BUNNY THE BEAR

"Stories" (Victory Records; 2013)

"Never judge a book by its cover." Or any other expression meaning not to be to so fucking critical. Well, that could not be more true than my review of The Bunny The Bear.

The Bunny The Bear. Granted, there are a million names out there and they chose this one. Strangely enough, this one seems to fit. This music on "Stories" is strange, a bit twisted and a lot of fun. It's not really heavy metal but they do use traditional singers and they also have a throat growler. It sure as hell is rock'n'roll.

I couldn't put my finger on the genre of music that The Bunny The Bear play so I made up a name for a genre all their own: Symphonic Theatrical Musical Presentation. It's music that plays out like a play or a movie in your head, with multiple singers and storylines.

"Stories" is music that is different and it did take a bit of getting used to, but after repeated listens, I found myself really enjoying it.
