BULLISTIC

"Chronicles of Love & Hate" (Backstreet Records; 2005)

Reviewed by Snidermann

So as I was listening to Bullistic's "Chronicles of Love & Hate" I'm thinking this group has all the makings of a really top notch band.

I'm getting into the first track, "Now & Forever," and it's about someone who was screwed over in a relationship. Well, I can dig it, we've all been there and the music is cool so I listen on. The next cut is "Discarded Soul," and on it goes with "Eulogy," "Doomsday's Coming" and "Tired of You." I see a trend here. As the CD plays on, it just gets too dark and depressing for me. On "Chronicles of Love & Hate," all I was hearing was the hate.

As much as I really like the musical aspect of this band, the lyrics are just too depressing for me. I realize this music might be therapeutic for some but it is not at all therapeutic ... or all that enjoyable ... for me.
