BULLET TRAIN TO VEGAS

"We Put Scissors Where Our Mouths Are" (Nitro Records; 2005)

Some have said that all punk is good punk. Okay, that was me and Bullet Train To Vegas is one of those bands that proves me right.

The music on "We Put Scissors Where Our Mouths Are" is punk-styled, but it is dark and hard and heavy. The themes throughout are really too varied to be mentioned. To be honest, after a couple of in-depth spins, I really cannot find the themes at all! And that's what makes "We Put Scissors ..." such great fun. Speaking of the CD title, you gotta love it.

However, I did find the band a bit long-winded and as I listened each time through I noticed I was getting more and more anxious for the CD to end. I wish they had cut the CD from eleven tracks to maybe eight to make it go down easier.

Still, I found this CD fun and entertaining. And the band has an awesome website as well.
