BONEYARD
"Oathbreaker" (Self-released; 2020)

Canada's Boneyard delivers a solid slab of hard rock with their debut album, "Oathbreaker."
"Oathbreaker" is eleven tracks of classic hard rock/heavy metal somewhere along the lines of Night Demon or classic metal (a la Saxon). We're talking mid-paced rockers with addictive riffs and fiery leads and a female vocalist who actually sings rather than snarls (which is not to say she doesn't have a little attitude). It's a little like Saxon if Saxon were fronted by Pat Benatar.
Things slow down a couple of times, in typical style, with the title track and "Hope," although both tracks have more than their share of fire. My favorite tracks are "Fates Warning" (the opener and first single), the grinding "Gone," and the driving "Born Again."
I'd recommend Boneyard's "Oathbreaker" to any hard rock/heavy metal fan but especially fans of Doro, Lita Ford and Halestorm.
