Calico Cooper, daughter of rock and metal icon Alice Cooper, has been in the rock band Beasto Blanco since 2013. Holy shit! How come we here at RoughEdge.com did not know that. Anyway, R. Scott Bolton sent me a link recently for a video from the band and it was directed by Calico Cooper. I of course jumped at the chance and dug up some of their music. I entered a world I thought I knew, but actually did not.
Let me back up a bit. Since 1997, Calico has toured with Alice playing the sadistic nurse on stage, the same job her mother, Sheryl, did for years. While on tour with Alice she met Chuck Garric. In 2012, Garric (who had played with Dio and Alice Cooper) and Chris Latham formed Beastö Blancö. In 2013, Calico joined the band.
This recording is called "We Are Beastö Blancö" and what I experienced was a total immersion into the very cool world of Beastö Blancö. The music is hard and extremely fun to listen to. It has a quality that every metal fan around the world will appreciate. I know I did.
From start to finish, Beastö Blancö rocks like a bitch from start to finish.
