ATOMIZATOR

"Nuclear Booze Patrol" (Witches Brew; 2025)

Reviewed by R. Scott Bolton

Maybe I was just in the mood for it, or maybe Atomizator's "Nuclear Booze Patrol" is one killer thrash album. Either way, the twelve tracks on this CD had me banging my head from beginning to end (okay, except for maybe the opening track, a quick 60-second synthwave introduction and track eight, "Terror 404" which sounds like it's been cut from the latest Alien movie).

After that short synthwave intro, Atomizator wasted no time in pressing the pedal to the metal. "Permanent Injury" has the speed and power to cause some. "Thrash Compactor" (how can you not love that title?) does some more damage with its high-pitched Metal Church like vocals. Without going through each and every track, suffice to say that "Nuclear Booze Patrol" kicks ass all the way through its pounding title track closer. Breakneck speeds, crushing rock'n'roll, vocals that roar when they have to and scream when the time is right. It's everything any fan of thrash could want.

I would recommend not listening to this album when driving. Its fast and furious sound could be a bad influence (as the last few seconds of the album demonstrate).
